We are thrilled to announce the 4th successful PhD dissertation defense from the Musah Lab! The newly minted Dr. Yasmin Roye led research studies in our lab that have opened new doors in patient-specific disease modeling and illuminated how diabetic podocytopathies and glomerular diseases progress, particularly through the dynamic remodeling of the extracellular matrix. Her discoveries also point toward YAP modulation as a potential strategy for treating kidney disease. Since her interview for a position in our lab, her scientific growth has been nothing short of remarkable. Congratulations to Yasmin!
